What is the best way to present my goods for transport?

It is important that everyone in the chain of responsibility ensures any freight earmarked for transport is well packed, ready for its movement.

Packaging of goods in preparation to move your shipment is important, things like bubble wrap, foam inserts, paper/cardboard fillers internally, as well as strapping and shrink-wrap externally, will help eliminate possible movement during transportation.

When your goods are loaded, ready to go, ensure the carrier has at least the following:

  • Senders name
  • Receivers name
  • Receivers address
  • Paperwork required to complete delivery
  • Number of items (confirmed before the carrier departs)
  • Contact number of delivery point (If possible)

What it cubic freight?

Simply measure the height, length and width of the item.

If a parcel is 0.65m long x 0.25m wide x 0.35m high, its cubic dimension is 0.65 x 0.25 x 0.35 = 0.57.

Charged at 18.98 cubic kgs or 18.98 charge weight
